One of the most well known zoo of Europe. 1600 animals, mammals, birds and reptiles from all the continents. Opened every day all year round: from 9am to 7 pm from the 1 st of April to the 30 th of September and 9am to 6pm the rest of the year. Parrots and otters shows from Easter to end of September. The visit will take a minimum of three hours

La Corderie Royale
Here, you are in the heart of the former arsenal of Rochefort, whose construction was started in 1666 at Colbert's initiative. Over a period of 250 years, more than 350 boats were built here.

Fort Boyard
 Located halfway between Aix Island and Oléron Island, Fort-Boyard was designed to protect the roadstead of Aix Island and the Rochefort Arsenal. It helped reinforce the defence system erected along the coasts and on the islands of present day Charente-Maritime. Napoleon had decided that the fort would be erected at the gates of one of the most valuable arsenals of the Empire, on the sandbank of "Boyard tether."
